The Pure Mulberry Story

Pure Mulberry was founded by Carole, a lifelong believer in the power of simple, natural ingredients.

What began with a simple lip balm made from carefully chosen natural ingredients soon became a passion. Friends and family began trying her products and encouraging her to make more. As her knowledge grew, so did her collection of formulations, each one thoughtfully developed using plant-based oils, butters and botanicals chosen for their genuine skincare benefits.

Today, Carole still creates every Pure Mulberry product herself at Mulberry Cottage in Yorkshire.

From developing new formulations and sourcing ingredients to weighing, blending, pouring, and labelling, every step remains hands-on. Nothing is outsourced or mass produced. Every batch is made with the same care, precision and attention to detail that inspired the business from the very beginning.

For Carole, natural skincare should be more than a daily routine. It should be a small act of self-care, a moment to slow down, nourish your skin and enjoy products made with integrity.

That's the philosophy behind Pure Mulberry, and it's at the heart of every product she makes.

Why we do things differently

The skincare industry is full of bold claims, scientific-sounding buzzwords and products packed with ingredients most people have never heard of.

At Pure Mulberry, we believe you deserve better. We believe transparency matters. We believe in skincare that supports your health and the planet. And we believe nature already provides the ingredients needed to create effective, nourishing natural skincare.

That's why every Pure Mulberry product is formulated with carefully selected plant-based ingredients chosen for a purpose. Our products are between 98% and 100% natural, with the majority of ingredients sourced from certified organic suppliers wherever possible.

Crafted by hand in Yorkshire

Unlike mass-produced skincare, every Pure Mulberry product is made by hand in small batches at Mulberry Cottage in Yorkshire.

Creating products this way allows us to maintain complete control over quality while ensuring every ingredient is measured with precision. From face oils and balms to soaps and body care, each recipe is carefully formulated, tested and documented.

Before any product reaches our customers, it undergoes rigorous safety assessment and complies with UK cosmetic regulations.

Only quality, natural ingredients

We believe that exceptional natural skincare starts with exceptional ingredients.

We source our raw materials from trusted UK suppliers who share our commitment to quality, ethics and sustainability. Many of our ingredients are certified organic, vegan-friendly and independently verified through recognised organisations such as COSMOS and the Aromatherapy Trade Council.

From nourishing botanical oils and rich plant butters to carefully selected essential oils, every ingredient is chosen for the benefits it brings to your skin.

Our commitment to sustainability

Being a small independent business allows us to make thoughtful choices that put quality and sustainability first.

We use recyclable glass packaging wherever possible, offer refill options across much of our range, and continuously work to expand our refill programme.

Orders are packed without plastic bubble wrap, using biodegradable corn starch packing peanuts which are often reused from our own supplier deliveries.

We also prioritise UK-based suppliers to reduce transportation miles and manufacture in small batches to minimise waste.

You'll also notice we don't package every product in an individual box.

While it may be common in the beauty industry, we believe unnecessary packaging often ends up in the bin moments after opening. Instead, we focus our efforts on what's inside the package: exceptional natural skincare made with carefully chosen ingredients.
